Fast way to reset a Cortex PC to default

    Hi All, (Karam?),

Anyone have the fastest / best way to reset a Cortex PC back to fresh, just leaving all the registered nodes in a tree ready to go?

Alternatively the only way I can think of is to manually delete the plan view and deleting the log file directory, and not 100% sure how to wipe all the node histories?

    Thanks in advance,

    Marcus

Not quite sure what you mean by 'back to fresh'. From your second sentence I'm wondering whether you just mean deleting history and some other sensitive information but that the database is still to run the same hardware with the same parameters and connections. For example you might want to do that if you are selling a home but leaving the IDRATEK system in place to pass on to the next user.

In this case you would delete the contents of the History folder and the Log folder, and you would clear out certain sensitive bits of information in the database such as e-mail set up, Alarm Pro credentials, Mobile web server users and possibly port numbers. There could be other sensitive information in other areas which depend very much on what features you use and any other logic you might have implemented for example in API client, in phone or SMS object set up, maybe even in personalised audio files. I think you will just have to look around to judge. Then save the database and delete any backup copies of this. Or you could also keep a copy of the old database and the history folders before you delete which you would then still be able to peruse for past data using another copy of Cortex on some other computer, if that was of interest to you.
