My baby has a lot of troubles sleeping, so I want to hook up an electric blanket controlled by the temperature of the room from a multi sensor. I’m hoping that keeps her cosey in the night for some rest for all of us. X
I would use it on the lights for my cabinet, I could then switch them on and off from the comfort of my sofa
This would be great for the new house!
I’d add the TP-Link homebridge plugin to my existing Hue, WeMo, Plex Sensors and Tesla Climate control setup.
I could then set schedules for it using the Home app on iOS to come on and off when people arrive/leave 🙂
What better way than to set it up in time for Christmas!! TP-Link Plug for the Christmas tree lights (no more crawling around getting spiked by needles) with a routine on Alexa set for “Alexa, It’s Christmas” to turn plug on and the room lights on red/green!
My heater in my office so it’s nice and toasty by the time I start work.
I would like my living room side lights to come on at dusk and go off at 23:00. That would be lovelly.
so many options!
i think the best would be to be able to say “Coffee time” when I wake up and have my coffee machine brewed by the time i get down stairs.
I’d love to control an electric heater so only when the temperature dips below a certain point it switches on, with different temperatures depending on the economy 7 rate.
I’d like to monitor the difference in power draw between the living room fan I need in the summer Vs the heater my wife insists on using in the winter. Settling an age old arguement! 😉
Control child’s plug in night light
I would use it to turn on the heater in the garden room at the weekends to start warming the room up before I even get out of bed.
Would be great to monitor energy usage to graph it, turn a lamp on and off when away and I could control it remotely when away if necessary to change the timings etc.
It would go straight in to my son’s Xbox. He won’t know what hit him 🙂
Would be great to see how much time watching TV is buy the kids and to turn off at bedtime
It would be great to monitor and control my AV setup which includes an aging Marantz amp which I’m sure is sucking up the juice even on standby…this plug could tell it who’s boss
This would be ideal at this time of year – I can control all of my Christmas lights from one socket AND make sure they don’t overload it! Ho ho ho
Definitely would use to remotely control the heat lamp/UV lamp for our tortoise, Brian. Can use the power monitoring to generate a notification if either bulb has blown or failed so he can always be warm!
Control kids TV to restrict how much tv they watch and monitor what it uses in standby mode
@David Owen – congrats, you are the WINNER!
The socket will be winging its way to you later today.
Many thanks to all that entered
