As part of refreshed line-up, Logitech have announced their new top-end universal remote, the Harmony Elite.
Logitech say the Elite delivers the same feature set as the Harmony 950, paired with the power of the Harmony Hub.
It can control many aspects of a smart home including connected devices like Philips Hue, LIFX lights, August smart locks, thermostats from Nest & Honeywell, devices from SmartThingsSM, INSTEON and smart home platforms IFTTT .
It’s also compatible with home entertainment devices like Apple TV, Roku, and Sonos and can be used with popular IR or Bluetooth game consoles such as Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation4, PlayStation3 or Wii.
Whether using the mobile app or advanced touchscreen remote, Harmony Elite offers seamless control of your entertainment—and your connected home. With the Harmony Elite, you can replace remotes for up to 15 entertainment devices, and combine that with control popular smart home products including lights, locks, and thermostats, either directly with one touch, on customizable schedules, or even when away from home

Assuming that this new remote is fundamentally the same as the Harmony Ultimate, then the claim of Insteon compatibility appears to be only for the latest USA version of the Insteon hub. The current UK version of the Insteon hub is not supported.
I am also concerned that the claim for SmartThings hub compatibility may also be limited to the USA version, as the UK V2 hub so far fails to connect to my Ultimate.
However the extra home automation hard buttons on the Elite handset do look useful.
David is right, INSTEON compatibility unfortunately is never actually that for us in the UK. Late last year I was awaiting INSTEON to release more product for the UK market. Never happened… Now I’m waiting for a HUB PRO but I won’t hold my breath.
I really do feel like I chose a solution with half an offering going with INSTEON in the UK.
Also for the remote, I wonder if they have fixed the lag issue’s I get on the touch and ultimate.
I have been in contact with Logitech, Insteon and SmarThings support and sadly they have confirmed that neither the Insteon Hub UK version or the SmartThings v2 Hub UK will work with Harmony in the UK. Sadly I don’t think there is any indication that either can or will get fixed. Very disappointing.
I am also in agreement with Jamie about the lack of Insteon support for the UK and they have told me that their Pro hub is not currently planned for a UK release.
I only hope that SmartThings can do better than Insteon.
