Spark Wi-Fi Adaptor Brings Internet and App Control to your Lights

Here’s another Kickstarter project to control your lighting. Spark is a Wi-Fi adaptor that fits between a light socket and the bulb (incandescent, dimmable CFL, or dimmable LED).

With Internet connectivity and an API Spark promise interesting things to come from 3rd party App developers as well as their own free Apps for iOS and Android.  The Spark Socket is designed to work with any voltage from 85V to 265V and will initially be available in E26/E27 screw fitting with a bayonet version planned for the future.  Check out the video below…

The Spark Socket screws into any standard lightbulb socket, and connects to the internet over the Wi-Fi connection in your home, so that you can control your lights from a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Spark can make your life simpler, more streamlined and — just maybe — a little more fun.  Here are some of the great things that Spark can do:

• Turn on your lights before entering a dark house
• Use your bedroom lights as a “sunrise” alarm clock, slowly fading on over 10 minutes to help you wake up naturally
