Earlier this year, as cellular broadband started to really take off, we put the Vodafone 3G USB Stick to the test. This quickly became one of our most popular reviews, and its accompanying YouTube video (below) has had many thousand of views. However, contracts don’t suit everyone which is why Vodafone have just announced their PAYG version of this modem. For a limited time the £49 device is shipping with a free £15 credit, effectively making it just £34.
Plus – Vodafone don’t have any time limits on the expiry of their data in the bundle. Some other providers top ups expire after 30 days and any remaining data is lost!
The Vodafone Modem is simple to install & Use is ultra fast
and supports Windows Mac and Linux
Hello
Clicked the link and it comes up ‘available for £39’, as far as I can see this includes 1GB data. This will make it £24 and with free p&p.
Going to buy one for my Netbook.
Not currently supported on Mac. Vista XP only.
Don’t know why Linux is crossed out. Bought one of these as an xmas pressie and it worked perfectly with Fedora 10, just plug in and select from network manager. A couple of seconds later connected and surfing. Not sure how to top it up though. 🙂
Thanks for the info Martin, we’ve un-crossed the Linux now.
It’s untrue to say that there are no time limits to the pay as you go data. In the terms and conditions you will see that if you don’t use your modem stick within a 180 day period then Vodafone will disconnect your number and you will lose your credit/data. Still a good deal in my view when compared with the amount of data I lost with 3 each month.
