Weekend Project: Setting up Home Assistant on your PC or Mac

Home Assistant is an open-source home automation platform running on Python 3

Earlier this week version 0.18 was released and with it even more support for a wide range of hardware and software like Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Hue, Nest, WeMo, MQTT, WebOS TV, Roomba, Sonos, Plex – the list goes on and on.

Community member tktino has made three getting started videos guides to help you through the setup process on Windows, Mac and Linux.

  1. Nice article, so far I’ve set this up on a raspberry pi (model B), and it looks pretty interesting. Just working on getting it to talk to my lightwaverf devices.

I’d love to find a way to get it running on my useless stackbox (http://thexuan.com/).
