Windows XP Media Center Edition – Video Copying Eased

“Microsoft will relax restrictions on how users of its new multimedia operating system will be able to copy and distribute TV programs, the world’s largest software maker says.

Microsoft, in an effort to move its software beyond the desktop, is introducing this autumn Windows XP Media Center Edition, a new version of its operating system for personal computers that is enhanced for viewing video and listening to music.

Originally, Microsoft had developed the software so that users could only watch television programs stored on the hard disk or copied onto a DVD on only one machine — the PC used to record the original content.”… Click here to read the
