Yale Launch ‘Real Living’ Wireless Smart Home Lock Range

Yale Wireless Locks

Yale launched some interesting new locks at CEDIA last month.  Keypad and Touchscreen Versions are available and you can choose from Z-Wave or Zigbee wireless technology.  Yale say the new ‘Real Living’ range are easily integrated into a wide range of home control and security systems including Control4, and promise this is just the start of their foray into the smart home market.

The emergence of the digital home is a major catalyst for the creation of the Yale Real LivingTM portfolio of residential access control and home security solutions. At CEDIA 2010, Yale will unveil the first locks in this new collection: deadbolt and lever locks specifically designed to integrate seamlessly into the digital home of the 21st century. Even more importantly, these locks will enhance the homeowner’s safety, providing status updates and information to help keep the residence secure.

Available with either a sleek touchscreen or pushbutton key pad, Yale’s new platform of intelligent locks supports Control4’s recently launched 2.0 user interface, allowing the homeowner to directly access and control all of the lock’s unique features.  The digital home of today is a residence with devices that are all connected through a home control network. Cooperating transparently, all devices and home appliances conform to the same standard in a digital home. Ultimately, the digital home features products that keep its occupants safe and secure, manage their energy consumption, and provide home entertainment, all in a coordinated and easy-to-use manner.

With the Control4 system — the premier integration platform for today’s digital home — the user can create personalized events or scenes for up to 250 users triggered by the push of a button from anywhere in the home or remotely via the Internet.  The NEW Yale Real Living residential access control lock.

Available with either Z-Wave® or Zigbee®, Yale Real Living integrates seamlessly into a wide range of home control and security systems, making everyday living easier and safer. Yet these new intelligent locks represent just the beginning of Yale’s foray into the digital home market. As new products are introduced in the Yale Real Living portfolio, the company’s ability to support and enhance the digital home experience will increase exponentially.”

  1. Doesn’t seem to support zwave euro frequency. Any body know something about this?

  2. Does the lock have the European 868.42 Mhz Z-Wave® specification?
