If you missed the half price deal on the Bye Bye Standby Energy Saving Kit at Amazon earlier this week, it's back! No clue on how long it will last this time but if you're in the market for three one remote socket and a controller the deal is HERE.
UPDATE – we're hearing this deal is for ONE socket and remote. People that ordered are starting to receive this email – "There has been an error on the Amazon listing whereby an old image and description of the product has been shown"
UPDATE 2 – Thanks for your comments. This is all starting to look very fishy to us too! The Amazon Marketplace seller "AllThingsGreen" is still displaying a description for this article as "Box Contains – 3 x Bye Bye Standby Smart Socket, 1 x Bye Bye Standby Remote Control". Also – how can 1 socket and 1 remote be £29.99 for Half Price £14.99 (+P&P) when Amazon sell that pack at £11.99 without discount!
*shakes fist*
🙁
And it still says…
Box Contains
# 3 x Bye Bye Standby Smart Socket
# 1 x Bye Bye Standby Remote Control
They still can’t get it right, and it’s not rocket science.
Apparently my items have dispatched, but now I’m being told that the listing is wrong and they will ship my items out at the end of the week.
All sounds a bit fishy to me.
Pretty shoddy behaviour. Surely they are in breach of contract if they supply something other than as advertised?
Schedule 1 of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Act 2008 specifically states that the use of such “bait and switch” tactics are forbidden in all circumstances.
Report to their local council’s trading standards officers and/or consumer direct?
As one of the original team who launched Bye Bye Standby, I’m a bit disturbed by this (even though I’ve not worked for them for 3 years.)
It looks like All Things Green, a trade reseller, has mucked up bigtime on their pricing. The fact that it’s already been pulled suggests that it was probably an error rather than a scam though.
Trading Standards will only get involved if Amazon and All Things Green fail to honour a refund request. They won’t get involved just because you’ve been sent the wrong thing but phoned them rather than asking for your money back. In my experience, Amazon are pretty good at sorting out refunds once you finish being on hold and talk to a human being!
just in case anyone is unaware, Asda sell packs of three status remote control sockets and a remote control for a fiver. granted the system is nor as expandable as bye bye standby, but 5 quid is ridiculously cheap
Hi,
Do you supply the above mentioned battery?
Kind regards,
Paul Matthews.
