Thanks to the sterling work of the Plex team – especially ‘hd1080’ – owners of all 2010 Samsung C-Series TVs with ‘Internet@TV’ and all 2011 D-Series TVs with ‘SmartHub’ are now able to install the free Plex client from the official apps store.
A few clicks and the client was downloaded and installed and it quickly found our Plex library. Within a couple of minutes we were surfing our media and playing video through the Plex UI we know and Love! The client was released a few weeks ago for the 2010/2011 Blu-Ray Players too.
Check out the New Apps section on your telly now to install it. Remember you’ll need to be running a Plex server somewhere on your LAN. PMS version are available for Windows, Mac and Linux (even some NAS devices).

I’ve tried using Plex before, and I can appreciate the software and its capabilities. Yet, I always come back to XBMC. I understand the big drawback to XBMC is the lack of Mac OS support. But I have never thought of using a mac for a home theater server.
What about plex for Samsung 2012 TVs like the ES8000….when will plex be availbale?
