TV Lights with New Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box

Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box

The Philips Hue range is one of the most popular DIY smart home lighting systems on the planet.

Now they have introduced the new Hue Play HDMI Sync Box which connects your system and your TV or home cinema setup to create an immersive and dynamic lighting setup.

This takes the concept of the Philips Ambilight TVs and extends it to all the hue lights in your room – check out the video below.

You can connect up to 4 HDMI devices on the input side and use the app to customise your look (obviously you’ll need colour Hue lights and a bridge too). There’s support for HDMI2.0b, HDCP 2.2, CEC, 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, up to 4K 60Hz HDR10 and an IR receiver too.

The Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box is available to pre-order in the US now for $229.99 and ships October. No word on a UK release date yet.
